This is one of the latest beds we have to use for our most critical patients. It turns the patient prone (on their stomach) and rotates them back and forth. Their ventilator tube and all the monitor and IV lines come out through the big round hoop at the head of the bed. Not only do we nurses have to have the healers art, we also have to be mechanically minded, tall and strong. -Guess who is none of the above. It is amazing how well it helps the patients who have very compromised respiratory status.

It looks really state of the art! Very cool. I will have to come in and shadow you some day so I can get a closer look!
Wow - and we thought we bought an uncomfortable mattress - How the heck could that be comfy? I guess it doesn't matter much if your comatose. Good luck with the mechanical, tall and strong. I think you must be better than you think.
That is quite huge - do they stay in the rooms? You don't have to push those things around do you?
Cool...the things technology allows us, huh?

Thanks for taking the H.P. quiz. Just to let you know - you answerd 4 and 1/2 questions right. Good job! Love you lots, Michelle
This bed is pretty amazing. Great work to all the nurses who have to run it.
Love your song too! Very appropriate. :)! Hey - fix your comment page so it appears in a pop-up window so your music doesn't stop when I comment, okay! Love ya, Michelle
We saw a kid in one of these when Oliver was in the PICU. It scared us. It's amazing what they can do these days! Thank heaven for modern medicine!
Yes, it's amazing the people that should have died but didn't because of this technology. It's really great.
