NEAR MISS

Yesterday Brent and I were taking a load of Kristy's furniture and things to their new place. We thought we had everything tied down but one stroller flew out as we headed up center street. It became wedged under the right front tire of a big truck which stopped for the red light in the left hand turning lane there on 8th west. I ran over to him, waving my arms so he would see me, and I extracted the tangled mess from his truck. I went to run back, not realizing the light had changed when the car next to him began honking wildly. I was startled and hesitated briefly just as a car went speeding by in the right lane. I had nearly stepped right in front of that car! Those people saved my life and I wish I could thank them.

Guess you never know when you might be someone's guardian angel. Hope I can do the same for someone else. I'm also acutely aware of how blessed I am.

Oh my goodness, Mom - I want to thank them too! Thank heavens you hesitated! We need you around - so, the more guardian angels the better. Sheesh - you were probably pretty shaken. I had no idea Kristy and James moved in to grandmas! Hope everything else went smoothly.
Love ya, Michelle

How scary. I guess it serves as a reminder of how fragile this life can be. I am glad you are safe and unhurt.

Brent, I just read your post about your flatulence issues. I don't think I laughed that hard since the time I was sitting in your front room, trying my hardest to woo your daughter, and you walk out ito the kitchen (wearing nothing but your underoos), and shook the entire house with awe inspiring force. I am not sure to this day if you knew we were there. It was hard not to laugh.

I can see the headlines now: "Grandma dies retreiving high chair on busy road." MOM!! What are you doing?!?! If you're going to go at least make it a good headline.

I remember when you almost got run over another time when we were on our way to piano lesssons. Brent will need to restrict your time in the street if you're not more careful!!!

MOM!!! What would I do if you died and I am in Hawaii? First you would be cutting my trip short. That would not make me to happy and sec. that's just wrong. I am so glad that you didn't get hit by that car. I don't even want to think about it- that is how scary that is. Please be careful!
Love you!
